1. Quick Oats. One of the most healthful breakfast cereals is whole grain cooked oatmeal (100% whole grain rolled oats or Quick Oats). Oats are high in dietary fiber, which protects against cardiovascular disease and cancer of the colon. Oatmeal is packed with many essential nutrients such as calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium and vitamins B1, B2, B3 and E. Oatmeal has been shown to lower LDL (the "bad" cholesterol) blood cholesterol levels and to maintain healthy blood pressure levels and promote healthy blood flow. Buy at supermarkets.
Note 1: If you’re worried about oats not being gluten free (cross contamination during processing), I suggest either Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Rolled Oats or Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Rolled or Quick Oats. http://www.bobsredmill.com/gluten-free-rolled-oats.html

Note 2: In lieu of instant oats, try steel cut oats with these easy overnight instructions.
Serves 1
* 1 cups (16 ounces) water
* 1/4 cup steel cut oats
 * dash sea salt and/or apple cider vinegar
Pour in the 1 cup of water. Turn the heat to high and bring the water to a rapid boil. Pour in the steel cut oats and salt/vinegar. Give a quick stir and let the oats cook for 1 minute.  If your oats start bubbling and rising up, then just give them a quick stir and that should take care of it, but if they still keep rising up, turn down the heat a bit. After one minute, turn off the heat, give the oats a quick stir, cover and then let them sit out overnight in the frig. In the morning add the below ingredients and heat for 5 minutes. Ladle the oats into a bowl and top with the listed ingredients you should not cook (bananas and strawberries).

Note 3: Here are a number of grains that I suggest you add to your oat meal breakfast, half oat meal and half one of the following grains which add a crunch to  your breakfast making you feel full longer and are shown to lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes by lowering your cholesterol and high blood pressure.

2. Creamy Buckwheat can be added so the proportions of quick oats to creamy buckwheat are equal. Creamy buckwheat is good for your cardiovascular system containing a rich supply of flavonoids, particularly rutin, that protect against disease by extending the action of vitamin C and acting as antioxidants.

3. True Cinnamon (also called Ceylon Cinnamon) is such a powerful polyphenolic polymer antioxidant that, when compared to six other antioxidant spices (anise, ginger, licorice, mint, nutmeg and vanilla), cinnamon prevented oxidation most effectively (except mint). Cinnamon has been found to reduce triglycerides, bad cholesterol, and sugar in the blood, thus helping those with high cholesterol, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Researchers tested scores of other plant extracts, but none displayed insulin-enhancing activity near that of cinnamon. It is practically impossible to buy “true cinnamon” in the U.S., the bark of a tree native to Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon). The FDA allows Cassia, a cheaper product, to also be called cinnamon, and that is the only kind available in stores. But Cassia contains a moderately toxic component called coumarin which health agencies have warned large amounts can damage the liver. http://spices.suite101.com/article.cfm/difference_between_cassia_and_cinnamon

4. HerbaGreen Tea (one stopper full – one squirt) provides powerful antioxidant polyphenols of 15 cups of conventionally brewed green tea. HerbaGreen Tea provides free radical fighting components that help maintain a strong immune system and an excellent addition to a weight loss program. HerbaGreen Tea sooths irritated membranes, loosens and helps expel congestion in the upper respiratory tract, stimulates mucous secretions of the trachea, protects the liver against toxic substances, provides anti-allergic activity and provides significant anti-inflammatory effects.

5-8. Strawberries, Raisons, Dried Cranberries and Wild Blueberries (buy frozen wild blueberries at BJ’s and Food Lion) - A new study by scientists in the U.S. has found that red fruits (strawberries and cherries) and blue and black fruits (blueberries and raisons) are the best when it comes to fighting cancer. Anthocyanins, the compounds that give color to the skin (and it’s the skin that is most important) of most red, purple and blue fruits, significantly slows the growth of colon cancer cells.

How to Make the Syrup” - 2 cups water, ½ cup dried elderberries, 1 stick of lemongrass, 5 cloves and 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger – bring to a boil then simmer 30 minutes. Pour through a strainer and add 1 cup organic raw honey and one tablespoonful of hemp oil (buy at Whole Foods Grocery Store or on Amazon).
"How to Make Elderberry Syrup
* Elderberries are a rich source of vitamins A and C, which are crucial in helping the body maintain optimal health. Plus, the bioflavonoids in elderberry syrup boost the body's immune system by increasing antioxidant levels and viruses that damage cell walls. A daily dose can assist you in preventing both acute and chronic disease, treats upper respiratory infections and soothe a cough.
Where to Buy Dried Elderberries
* Lemongrass contains, in addition to luteolin, several other antioxidant/anti-inflammatory flavonoids that protect cell damage from heart disease and arthritis, and stops the growth cancer cells.

Hemp Seed Oil (unrefined cold pressed)  is a variety of the cannabis plant, but the only high these seeds will give you is a nutritional one. They’ve got more protein (about 10g per ounce) than any other seed which makes them a great alternative to animal protein (beef, lamb, mutton or pork).

Local Honey is another surprising superfood that contains powerful micronutrients that gives the body natural armor against diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's. Honey gets part of its nutritional punch from antioxidants that protect against free radicals, molecules which can leave the body more vulnerable to major diseases including cancer and Alzheimer's. Local honey is generally accepted as the best variety to use because it is produced by bees usually within a few miles of where the person eating the honey lives and is therefore the most effective all-natural solution for combating seasonal allergy symptoms from the very flowers that cause the allergy. It works like a vaccination, triggering an immune system response.

Folic acid (Vitamin B9) is essential to a process that clears homocysteine from the blood. Folic acid (folate) and is heart healthy. Peaches and bananas are high in folate, and peach antioxidants include carotenoids and phenolics which help neutralize free radicals that contribute to premature aging of the skin.
